92% is a track by Karlyn King & Patricia Panther inspired by an article in the Herald on Shirley Manson of Garbage, and also the fact that 92% of bands at Glastonbury this year were male. The article doesn't refer to Manson's songwriting prowess or record sales and just talks about her new marriage to a producer. We wanted to write this song to highlight that equality is a myth and sexism is alive and well particularly in the music industry.
lyrics
Red is the colour
She will be waiting
For you to listen
You can debate this
92%, is fairness what you meant?
A disproportionate event
You think your heaven sent
Love is at her core
Commanding presence
But you ignore this
Her talent wasted
